Man shot near Washington Park

MOORE HAVEN — On Monday, Nov. 19, Glades County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Williams Street, in the Washington Park area of Glades County, regarding a shooting incident that took place shortly after 9 a.m.

Upon arrival deputies located a 47-year-old male shooting victim who had sustained several gunshot wounds from a semi-automatic handgun. The victim was alert and able to identify his assailant. The victim was treated on scene and later airlifted to Lee Memorial Trauma Center to undergo surgery.

The suspect in the case has been identified, however their identity is not being released pending further investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division.

The case is an isolated incident and the public is not in any immediate danger.
