Halloween Carnival planned
MOORE HAVEN — Moore Haven Elementary will host a Halloween Carnival on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Moore Haven City Park, 299 Riverside Dr. SW in Moore Haven. Glades County Pastoral Association to present Sunset Cinema

HGUNC offers help

The mission of the Hendry/Glades Unmet Needs Coalition (HGUNC) is to partner with faith-based organizations, volunteer and social agencies, governmental agencies, community-based organizations, business and individual volunteers who seek to address the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the individuals and families affected by natural and manmade disasters in Hendry and Glades counties.

GCSO seeking teens for Explorers
MOORE HAVEN — Sheriff David Hardin, is always looking for ways to offer greater opportunities to the youth of Glades County. Sheriff Hardin is considering starting a Florida Sheriff’s Explorers’ Chapter, the Explorers will be trained in law enforcement techniques, traffic control, basic law and principles along with firearms training. Around the Lake Art Contest open
The Glades County Public Library, Glades County Advisory Board, and Glades County Friends of the Library are pleased to announce the start of Students Around The Lake Art Contest for 2019. This is open to all the students around Lake Okeechobee.
The subject matter this year is: What does Lake Okeechobee mean to me? The Advisory Board chose this topic to show the beauty and diversity of the lovely area and not to limit the children on their creativity on this subject.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the winners and their work will be exhibited during Art in the Park Moore Haven on Jan. 26, 2019.
