Glades County School bus involved in minor accident

MOORE HAVEN – Fortunately there were no injuries reported in a school bus crash that happened on Sept. 1 at approximately 3:25 p.m. at Pine Avenue and Leisure Boulevard in Glades county.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, a 2003 Thomas school bus, driven by Connie Hough of Moore Haven, was driving south on Pine Avenue Thursday afternoon.

Kristen McClelland, 25, of Moore Haven was driving a 2012 Volkswagen Passat, traveling west on Leisure Boulevard.

The school bus stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Pine Avenue and Leisure Boulevard and then proceeded to make a left turn east onto Leisure Boulevard. As the school bus attempted to turn onto Leisure Boulevard, the Volkswagen continued west on Leisure Avenue, resulting in the left front of the car making contact with the left side of the school bus in the west lane of Leisure Boulevard. No injuries were reported.
