Lee County deputies pull body of woman from Caloosahatchee

FORT MYERS — The body of a woman was found inside a car in the Caloosahatchee River on Monday, July 20.

In a press release, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said the woman’s body has not yet been identified, but the car she was found in matched the description of the missing Fort Myers woman, 25-year-old Chelsey Green.

Green was reported missing the morning of Friday, July 17. Missing persons flyers were distributed by area law enforcement offices and shared on social media, including the Glades County Democrat’s Facebook page, over the weekend.

The flyers showed two pictures of Green, as well as her white Dodge Stratus — the same type of car pulled from the river near Fort Myers.
