Naples woman killed in S.R. 29 crash

A Naples woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a crash in Glades County, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported.

The accident occurred at around 4:35 p.m. on Nov. 7 on State Road 29 just south of State Road 78.

Breeanna Koetting, 25, was riding as a passenger in a 2006 Nissan Altima when the driver lost control and struck an oncoming pickup truck, an accident report released by FHP stated.

The driver of the Altima, 26-year-old Blanch Bauer, reportedly suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the pickup truck, Jesus Silvas, 58, of Okeechobee, was reportedly transported to Lehigh Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The report states Koetting was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. It is unknown whether Bauer or Silvas were wearing their seatbelts.

Bauer was charged with exceeding a safe speed limit by FHP troopers. According to the report, the crash was not alcohol related.
