MOORE HAVEN — Florida residents have a new place to purchase fuel, meals, snacks and more as the new Love’s Travel Stop in Moore Haven opened for business on March 23. The new travel stop, located at U.S. Highway 27 and State Road 78, adds approximately 60 jobs to Glades County. The store is the first development in the Americas Gateway Logistics Center, an industrial and commercial campus that covers nearly 800 acres.

“We’re proud to become part of the Moore Haven community and to contribute to the area’s economic development,” said Tom Love, founder and executive chairman of Love’s. “Moore Haven’s proximity to the tourist attractions surrounding Lake Okeechobee, as well as other popular destinations in southern Florida, makes it a convenient stop for the motoring public and professional drivers. We look forward to providing the ‘Clean Places, Friendly Faces’ Love’s is known for, to a new part of the state.”

The 10,000-square-foot facility features an Arby’s restaurant, gourmet coffee, fresh fruit, gift items, 10 fuel pumps and more. It offers six diesel fuel pumps, five showers and 77 truck-parking spaces for professional truck drivers. Moore Haven marks Love’s 14th travel stop in Florida.

Nationwide, Love’s operates more than 420 locations.

Love’s will celebrate the opening by donating $2,000 to the Moore Haven High School Scholarship Foundation. The donation will be presented at a ribbon cutting held in conjunction with the Glades County Economic Development Council at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 30.
