Woman’s Club plans walkathon for breast cancer

MOORE HAVEN — The Glades County Woman’s Club will sponsor their sixth annual Walkathon for Breast Cancer on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Moore Haven City Park, 299 Riverside Drive in Moore Haven.

Registration will be held at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Glades County Library, 201 Riverside Drive. The walk begins at 11 a.m. Then stick around for the announcement of the winners of the Rib Cook-Off and your chance to win money from the 50/50 drawing. The registration fee is $10 per person or $100 for a team of up to 12.

Awards will be presented for the youngest, oldest, most team spirit, first and second-place runners, and first and second-place walkers.

Walk in honor of your favorite survivor, your favorite person fighting any cancer battle now or in memory of someone you lost to cancer. One hundred percent of the proceeds go toward providing mammograms for the uninsured of Glades County.
