Driver and passenger in critical condition following accident

GLADES COUNTY – A Glades County resident loses control of his vehicle resulting in critical injuries for both the driver and passenger.

According too the Florida Highway Patrol on Dec. 15 at approximately 3:09 p.m. Shane Slocum, 30, of Glades County was traveling north in a 2012 Toyota Camry on County Road 721 towards Bullhead Grade when he lost control of his vehicle and traveled off the roadway onto the shoulder of the road when he struck a tree and continued to travel north on the shoulder.

According to the FHP report Mr. Slocum was charged with careless driving.

Mr. Slocum was reported in critical condition at the time of the report. Samuel Andrew Slocum, one year old, a passenger in the car was reported in critical condition. Both the driver and passenger were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital.
