One death and two seriously injured in U.S. 27 accident

A vehicular accident at the intersection of U.S. 27 and S.R. 78 left one man dead and two men in serious condition on Thursday. March 9.

According to the FHP on March 9 at 7:04 p.m. Daniel Neff of Englewood was driving a 2015 Dodge Journey eastbound on SR 78 and made a left turn into the inside lane of southbound U.S. 27 traveling north in the southbound lanes into the path of a 2013 Ford F-150 traveling south on U.S. 27.

The Dodge Journey struck the front of the Ford F-150 redirecting both vehicles into the median of U.S. 27.

The 2013 Ford F-150 was driven by Michael Folsom, 59, of Clearwater.

Mr. Neff was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.

Michael Folsom and his passenger Eric Otradovec, 25, of Valrico were both reported in serious condition. Mr. Neff was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital and Mr. Otradovec was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital via Hendry Regional.
