Vehicular accident leaves one in serious condition

A Oct. 7 vehicular accident reportedly left Glorira Cruz, 23, in serious/stable condition.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 10:03 p.m., a 1992 Ford F150 driven by Kevin Adrian Romaro, 18, of Pompano Beach, was traveling northbound on State Road 78. At the same time a 2007 Mercury Milan driven by Dylan Matthew Sloan, 24, of Clewiston, was traveling southbound on State Road 78.

The Ford F150 crossed the centerline of the roadway and began traveling north in the southbound lane of State Road 78. The Ford continued traveling north into the path of the Mercury. The Mercury swerved to avoid a head on collision with the Ford. As a result, the right front of the Ford collided with the right front of the Mercury in the southbound lane. Upon impact both vehicles rotated counterclockwise. The Ford came to rest against the west guardrail and then burst into flames.

Glorira Crystal Cruz, 23, of Winter Park, a passenger in the Mercury, was transported by EMS to Lee Memorial Hospital and reportedly was in serious/stable condition.
