MOORE HAVEN — Moore Haven Elementary School students celebrated Veterans Day last week by teaching their students the meaning of the day and honoring those that have served our country. In classrooms around the school, teachers could be heard teaching their students what it means to be a veteran, the importance of the day and how to show your appreciation to those that have served our country. A special breakfast was held to honor local veterans and to show students what a true hero looks like. Students were invited to attend the Moore Haven Middle High School (MHMHS) Veterans Day program “The Unsung Heroes”. Second graders participated in the program by singing, “God Bless the U.S.A.” with the MHMHS Choir. Pre-K students honored our very own veteran, Jennifer Timms, with a thank you poster and lots of hugs.
