WGS blood drive

Special to the Lake Okeechobee News/WGS

GLADES COUNTY — West Glades School Beta Club partnered with Oneblood to have a blood drive on the school campus. Its recent blood drive resulted in 22 units of blood, which means 66 patients could benefit from the lifesaving efforts of its blood donors that day. Also, 21 students received a backpack emoji clip for having someone donate in their name. The blood that was donated was likely to be transfused into a patient within 48-72 hours. The turnaround is that fast and is that constant. Consider PAYING IT FORWARD by giving the gift of life on Feb. 11, when Oneblood will be at WGS for another donation day.
