Moore Haven Sports News in Brief

• Moore Haven boys’ basketball lost to First Baptist Academy on Dec. 13, 53-48. Michael Lopez led the way with 14 points. Sergio Arietta had 10 points, John Cox and Andrew Fish seven points and Marquis Fudge had six points.

The Terriers held off Seacrest Country Day in a tight game Dec. 15, 72-70. Peter

Charles led Seacrest with 19 points while Josue Rivera added 15 points.

Moore Haven walloped Everglades City 82-30 on Dec. 9. Lopez led the offense with 26 points and five assists as Moore Haven jumped out to an early 28-10 lead after the first quarter.

Robert Harris had 13 points and six rebounds and Arrieta added 11 points and seven rebounds. Marquise Fudge pulled down eight rebounds. John Cox had five steals.

• The Lady Terriers basketball team had a strong week last week with three victories in four games to improve the team’s record to (6-7) on the season.

Moore Haven rallied from a nine point deficit to defeat Lake Placid on Dec. 12, 56-54. Aleina Micco had 13 points. Sydnee Cypress had 25 points and 10 rebounds. Sunni Bearden had 12 points and seven rebounds and Alicia Fudge pulled down 15 rebounds.

Moore Haven lost at home to First Baptist Academy on Dec. 13, 60-43. They were outscored 15-2 in the second quarter. Fudge had 12 rebounds, Bearden nine points, four steals and three assists, Cypress 22 points, three assists and four steals and Tonoy Patrick had nine rebounds.

Moore Haven routed Seacrest Country Day at home on Dec. 15, 64-24 and defeated winless Marco Island Academy 53-52 on Dec. 16.

• The Terriers boys’ soccer team has had a rough stretch of matches. They lost to South West Florida Christian 5-1 on Dec. 12 and 9-1 to Community School of Naples on Dec. 15.

• The Lady Terriers also have struggled against some quality opponents. They lost to LaBelle 8-1 on Dec. 5, 9-1 to Canterbury School on Dec. 7, 8-0 to Community School of Naples on Dec. 12 and 8-0 to Marco Island Academy on Dec. 16.
