Moore Haven showed off a talented stable of runners last Thursday, Sept. 8, when they walloped the Jupiter Christian Eagles 31-8 in middle school football in Jupiter.
The Terriers (1-1) were led by Johnny Crawford Jr. who raced for a 54 yard touchdown, Ja’veon Tullock who scored on a 70 yard touchdown run, and Johnny Crawford III who scored on a 34 yard touchdown run. Ronvareontae Hunter scored on a 45 yard touchdown run on a quarterback keeper for Moore Haven.
Coach Al Gary said he felt all of the players were on the same page in this game, “All of the kids had positive attitudes and I expect a lot out of them once they reach the high school level.”
The Terriers will host Glades Day next Thursday, Sept. 16, as part of Homecoming Week Festivities on campus. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. Gary said he wanted to thank all of the coaches and the parents for their support of the middle school team this year.
Cristobal Morales finished third in a cross country meet hosted by Lake Placid on Sept. 8. The freshman paced the Terriers boys team. Delfino Mayorga finished in 14th place. For the Lady Terriers Stephanie Aranda finished 18th and Blanca Aranda finished in 19th position.
Coach Amie Hoch said the team recently received a huge grant from Brooks Running Company for over $15,000 to purchase new shoes, spikes, uniforms and warm up apparel. She said that will be a great benefit to the cross country program.
