• Pemayetv Emahakv’s volleyball team ended the season with a 25-9 and 25-12 victory against LaBelle Middle School Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Coach Kim Jackson announced this would be her final game as Seminoles Coach. She had coached since the school opened.

Melina Steve led the way with nine aces and four kills. Mariah Billie added five aces and two kills. Elle Thomas had five aces and Shaela French added three aces.

Coach Jackson said it was a great season for the girls.

Season stats included Thomas with 29 aces and 22 kills, Karey Gopher with 19 aces and 17 kills, Tafv Harris with five aces, 12 kills and three blocks, Mariah Billie with 16 aces and five kills, French with 19 aces and three kills, Steve with 23 aces and five kills, Gisselle Micco with 19 aces and five kills and Alyssa Gonzales with three aces and three kills.

The JV Seminoles were led by Alice Osceola with 125 points, Leilani Burton with 85 points, Lashae King with 22 points, Kalynn with 21 points, Winnie Gopher with 18 points, Angelie Melton with 18 points and Ryanna Osceola with 15 points.

* Moore Haven’s cross country team had several great performances when they competed in the Hardee High School Wildcat Invitational on Oct. 11.

Antonio Gomez of Frostproof won the boys varsity race with a time of 16:55.33. Moore Haven was paced by ninth grader Cristobal Morales who finished in sixth place at 18:07.20. Delfino Mayorga finished 22nd with a time of 20:43.82. PJ Cardona finished in 21:40, and James Freyermuth in 24:05. Other finishers for the Terriers included Joe Perry, Javier Cardona, David Perry, Benjamin Toledo, Alberto Tapia and Julio Escobar.

Frostproof won the team championship with Sebring in second place. Moore Haven finished sixth as a team.

The girls varsity also had several strong performances. The race champion was Cristal Gomez of Frostproof who finished in 20:40.75. The Lady Terriers were led by Stephanie Aranda who finished 17th in 26:32. Yolanda Tapia finished in 27:02 to finish 20th. Blanca Aranda finished 23rd in 28:19. Other finishers for the Lady Terriers included Aaliyah Cardona and Sierra Cardona. Frostproof was the team champion and Moore Haven finished in fifth place.

• The Moore Haven volleyball team finished their season Monday, Oct. 17, with a three set defeat to Southwest Florida Christian at the District Tournament.
