Terriers to play Lake Placid Green Dragons on Friday

Moore Haven Terriers

The Terriers renewed the US 27 rivalry with Lake Placid Friday, Sept. 2, when they visit the Green Dragons.

Moore Haven (1-0) got off to a nice start at home Friday, Aug. 26, as they overwhelmed St. Edwards, 32-7.

QB John Cox did a nice job passing the ball as he hit Alduvar Gary on a 63 yard touchdown pass on a wide receiver screen. Eric Hunter was another threat in the passing game. Da’Shon Ross did a nice job in the run game with a seven yard touchdown run.

Lake Placid is under the direction of second year coach Jerry Hudnell. They went (2-8) and graduated nine seniors off that team. They run the pistol Wing-T offense. QB Tay Williams and running back Cole Prescott are the Dragon’s playmakers. Bryce Walker is the team leader on defense.

Lake Placid was rained out in week one at Neumann. They lost a kickoff classic to Sebring by a lopsided score the week before.

The Green Dragons play in District 4A-6. They lost last year at Moore Haven 27-6.

Cox had a big night last year for the Terriers with 125 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He added 105 yards passing in the game.

The last time the Terriers visited Lake Placid they were blown out 43-0 in 2014.

The kickoff Friday, Sept. 2, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Admission is $6.
